Dataman Vali-Flash 4.1 Incorrect Flash Card Size Detected

A problem exists that makes it impossible to validate some CompactFlash® cards. The symptoms of this problem are as follows:

• The card will be detected as a smaller size (e.g. 24MB instead of 64MB)
• An error message will be given, “Card reader cannot determine exact size of card"

The reason this error occurs has to do with the algorithm which detects the size of the CompactFlash® card. It fails when a card is setup with extended partitions.

Please note that this will not change any signatures, only Vali-Flash is unable to determine the size of the card. Thus Vali-Flash will be unable to validate.

This problem has been resolved in the latest release of Vali-Flash 4. Please uninstall your current copy, then download and install the latest version. Upgrade instructions.
