Communication Failure:
User has upgraded from the Dataman 48 (non LV) directly to the 48UXP programmer
by installing both the 48LV and 48UXP upgrade boards. The symptoms of this
problem are as follows:
Communication failure between the programmer and PC:
The reason this error occurs is because the user has swapped the PROM on the
lower D48UXP board for the LV upgrade PROM. The 48UXP PROM is a newer version
and is required for the 48UXP software to operate.
The 48UXP PROM on the lower board should have the number 14D6451265 on and is
firmware version 4.00. If the PROM has the number 14D6451293 on, this is the
48LV PROM and is firmware version 2.20 and should be swapped for the 48UXP
PROM.
The confusion arises due to the PROM needing to be replaced on the lower board
if the user was only upgrading from D48 to D48LV. As the D48UXP board is a
complete replacement lower board it does not require the PROM to be swapped
out.
